George D. Livingstone played very little football however, active involvement in the community saw George join the Floreat Park Amateur Football Club in 1962 as an official. From that start began an uninterrupted period of 36 years of distinctive service to Amateur Football.

George was club delegate and member of the WAAFL Management Committee from 1963, President of Floreat Park for 5 years from 1965-67 and 1971-72. In 1972 he was awarded Life Membership of the Club.

George was timekeeper for the State teams from 1976 to 1995. He was manager of the 1979 State Carnival Team in Hobart. For his service to Amateur Football, he was awarded WAAFL Life Membership in 1978.

From 1985 to 1996, George served as League Treasurer.

Over the seasons he was actively involved in League Committees including Re-instatement, Tribunal, Club Championship and Goal Kicking records and was also neutral timekeeper for finals matches.

Over many years George gave of his time unselfishly and enjoyed his involvement with his only reward to “just help out and keep amateur sport amateur”.
