As an umpire, President of the community umpire’s association and mentor to younger umpires, Seamus Rafferty continues to be a well-respected and strong leader in umpiring.

His umpiring career commenced in 1983 in the Claremont Junior Council then progressed to the amateurs, then to the WAFL and returned back to the amateurs in 1994, where he officiated in 3 A-Grade Grand Finals.

For over 20 years and in excess of 350 games, Seamus’s willingness to match day coach and mentor umpires has been his biggest influence on umpiring in the Perth Football League.

In addition, as a prominent Barrister, Seamus has been a leading member of the League’s Investigations and Tribunals since 2012.
