Eric Freeman was the League Vice President from 1967 until 1990, with a wealth of experience in football administration spanning 45 years.

He played three seasons with Swanbourne Ex Scholars Football Club before World War 2 and in 1946 joined CBC.

Eric was associated with Swanbourne Amateurs from its formation in 1947 until the club folded in the late 1980ā€™s, playing over 200 games, including the premierships in 1947 and 1948. He was also Club President for four years, Secretary one year, President of the social committee for three years and served on their general committee for 20 years.

Eric was Club Delegate to the WAAFL for 15 years before being elected as League Junior Vice President, a position held until 1990.

In 1967 he was Assistant Manager to the State carnival team that travelled to Launceston and was the Manager of the 1970 Perth carnival team.

He was awarded player'sā€™ Life Membership to the amateur league in 1957, Life Member of the Swanbourne AFC in 1957, WAAFL Life Membership in 1966 and for his overall services to football he was awarded the NFL Certificate of Merit in 1977. The F Grade Premiership Trophy is named in his honour.

After his retirement from the WAAFL Management Committee, Eric became more involved with his other great love, lawn bowls, with the Swanbourne Bowling Club.
