Prior to the Carnival in Hobart on 23rd June, arrangements were made for a match against the Bunbury Association on Sunday 3rd June and members selected travelled together on a special bus.

Mr R. Forster had been re-appointed as the State Coach with Mr. C. Jamieson as the Manager of the Carnival Team with Mr. Davenport as trainer.

Players selected in the Carnival Team were asked to contribute £32 each towards their expenses.  The WANFL had agreed to present the state guernseys and socks to the team. Mr Jamieson presented the ties, Messrs Veryard and Bennett, the blazer pockets.

The team, the youngest ever to represent the Association with the average age 24 years, the average weight 11st 13½ lbs and height 5’10. The lost only one game to Victoria.

The team travelled by air to Hobart and returned after the Carnival from Melbourne by train.

A special gathering of State Players to meet the delegates was held and because it had been decided by the Social Committee that due to the lack of support of a Ball conducted during the season, together with a lottery, with the main object of raising funds toward the expenses. It was disappointing as the majority of clubs showed little interest. A final Presentation Ball would not be held, the Fairest & Best Trophies were presented to Mr. J. Hilton, ‘A’ Division, Mr. R. Okely, “B1” Division and Mr. E McIntosh, “B2” Division.

During the year, it was recorded, with regret, the death of Mr. A.A. Moffatt who had been chairman of the Protests & Disputes Board, almost continually since its formation thirty years ago and his passing has brought an end to the life of and most enthusiastic person of our national game.

During the year Teachers College team visited the Eastern States and because no early official advice, had been given, the ‘B2’ Division fixtures had to be re-drafted for the third round of home and away games.

South Perth were given permission to travel to Corrigin, Bayswater to Katanning and Palmyra to Narrogin.
