1941

Mr C.J Veryard continued as President and Mr H.B Grosvenor as Secretary/Treasurer.

Mr W. Robinson & Mr R. Staples were elected to be the Executive Committee.

Sandovers and Achilles Football Clubs, unable to guarantee the fielding a team, withdrew from the association, South Perth advised that it was still in recess and unable to participate. This situation would continue for the duration of the war.

Swan Districts Football Club applied to join the WAAFA, were accepted, but later in June withdrew.

It was decided as only one division would be operative, that at the end of the first round, the top four teams would player for the Sandover Shield, while teams 5, 6, 7 and 8 would play a second round for the Bradford Shield and be the ‘B’ section.

As some clubs were in financial, those in recess and active, and with the help of the WAAFA, no player from those clubs were permitted to play in its league competition or any other grade of football in the state.

Arrangements were made that the WAAFA recognised any disqualification imposed on any player by the WANFL. It was further resolved that any player having joined a league side district from an amateur side, at any time, does not require a clearance to return to his original club.

A special evening was held for the presentation of trophies. Mr R.J Shields of the RAAF Club was unjudged, the Fairest & Best, while North Fremantle were premiers of the ‘A’ section, to win the Sandover Shield & Maylands the ‘B’ section to win the Bradford Cup.

Several clubs, who withdrew, gave their jumpers to the WAAFA in full or part payment if outstanding fees.

Donations of $3.3.0 ($6.30) and $1.1.0 ($2.10) were given to St John Ambulance Perth & Fremantle divisions for the services they had provided throughout the season.

After all accounts of ground & umpire fees were paid it was also decided to grant an honorarium of $8.8.0 ($16.80) to the Secretary and $1.1.0 ($2.10) to the Typist.
