1927

The Annual General Meeting saw Mr E.D Pym re-elected as President and due to the resignation of Mr R.H Horner, Mr R Selden was elected Secretary.

Vice-Presidents elected were Mr A Sandover, Mr W.R (Billy) Orr, Mr H.T Hames, Mr A.H Malloch, Mr F Bradshaw and Mr Woodman. Mr W.R (Billy) Orr was appointed Auditor.

New clubs accepted for admission were – Modern School Old Boys, General Motors and Postal Institutes. They joined Teachers College, Commonwealth Bank, and Sandovers & Mallochs who amalgamated in part with Foy & Gibson becoming Malloch-Foys.

It was resolved that the Association affiliate with the WAFL and that the resolution relating to the privilege of playing three “outside” players as in 1926 be reaffirmed.

Numerous applications for the position of central umpire were received. It was resolved that a sub-committee to consist of the Secretary and two club delegates. Mr Behrmann of Sandovers and Mr Lewis of General Motors were to confer with Mr W.R (Billy) Orr regarding the selection and trial of five umpires.

The President and Secretary were empowered to grant player clearances, subject to confirmation of the delegates.

Each club was to obtain a dozen small flags for boundary purposes and a timing signal be taken to the match in which the club is participating. This action must be rigorously enforced.

Late in the season, it was decided that a Disputes Committee be formed to deal with umpires reports of rough play in future seasons and deal with offenders.
